One of my most complex carved pieces, the idea for this pendant brooch came from a photo of a Kingfisher sitting on a Lotus, that was posted on Instagram. The lotus was shaped with both chasing and fabrication in silver, and the Kingfisher carved from blue Peruvian Opal, with the light breast from inlaid warthog tusk. The spots on the breast created by small burn marks on the tusk surface. The Kingfisher’s eye is green diamond.
